I think that the shops in Harleston shuld be really promoted. How about the Council gets lots of Hessian or other re-useable bags printed with ‘I’m a Harleston Shopper’ . If they got lots then they ould be cheap and the small shops could then afford to by a dozen or two at a time at cost price from the Council to sell on at cost price to their customers. This would be green and also would promote the town all round the area.
Another idea is having lockers somewhere secure in the middle of town like the swimming pool lockers. People who come in by bus or bike or even by foot could leave their heavy shopping in the lockers whilst they have a cup of tea or do more shopping (like car drivers putting their shopping in their car boots when they have had enough of lugging it around). This might also help lessen the amount of car journeys into town .
